Where did we get that name?
The Water Maze brand was first introduced to the market in 1989 by Landa, then North
America’s largest manufacturer of industrial pressure washers. Landa was the first
pressure washer manufacturer to introduce wastewater treatment systems for treating
and recycling wash-water generated by pressure washers.
The Water Maze name was coined from a proprietary “maze” design found on our coalescing
panels. The maze design, which is still in use today on our polypropylene plates, forces
the water stream to constantly change course enhancing the oil-water separation
effectiveness.
Beginning in 1994, the Water Maze division of Landa began introducing additional products
and technologies into the market, including high-efficiency wastewater evaporators
(called Water Blaze) and bioremediation systems.
In 1999, Landa was purchased by Harbour Group, a privately held industrial
acquisitions firm, and became part of a new company, C-Tech Industries, with
headquarters in Camas, Washington (near of Portland, Oregon).
Five years later, in 2004, C-Tech Industries was purchased by
Kärcher the world’s largest manufacturer of pressure
washers with headquarters in Germany. C-Tech headquarters remain in Camas, Wash.
Today the Water Maze name is widely known in the cleaning industry for its breadth of
systems and technologies.
